Thermostats

Thermostats are vital for maintaining the correct temperatures within the vivarium. If your heat element is not controlled by a thermostat then the temperatures could soar to dangerous levels and kill your reptile, or in worse case scenarios with faulty heating elements, could start a fire.

There are several types of thermostat but three main groups; "Mat Stats" (only for controlling heat mats), Dimming Thermostats (for controlling incandescent bulbs, although can also control ceramic bulbs and heat mats) and Pulse Proportional Thermostats (for controlling ceramic bulbs). Please be sure to choose the correct thermostat for your heating element.
